Did anybody watch that new Fox show tonight, "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?". The premise of the show is kinda lame, but I laughed my butt off when that UCLA graduate and law school attendee couldn't answer a single question without the help of the 10 year old. It's gonna be on again tomorrow night, so I'll probably watch it again. Seriously, he didn't even know what month Columbus Day was in, or who the first President was who was impeached. What a doofus.
If you've ever struggled with math problems, check out this blog. My husband, who hates math with a passion, thought the first one was especially hilarious!
Now for some fun news. The first Survivor scheduled for next year will take place in China! That could make for some really interesting challenges.
A student at the University of Missouri in Rolla has been taken into custody for threatening to set off a bomb and was waving around a bag of white powder, which has subsequently been shown to be powdered sugar. According to this report, as well as all the local news, the student, who has not yet been identified, is an International graduate student in Civil Engineering.
What a total hypocrite! Al Gore, the guru of green(not bad for a nickname, huh?), not only wastes fuel flying around in private jets, but he wastes a whale of a lot of money on his household utility bills. Of course, it's okay for him to shell out on average $1,300 plus a month on electricity alone, because he buys carbon offsets to balance it out. Frankly, I don't care how many offsets he buys, nobody needs to use 20 times the average electrical power to run one home. If my electric bill hits $150 a month, I'm raving about it.

Is everyone enjoying this season's "24"? I wouldn't trust Logan any farther than I could throw him with two broken arms. If you like sarcasm and humor and want to extend your "24" pleasure, check out Blogs for Bauer, and the live blog that runs weekly at Dave Barry's website. Don't let the occasional foul word throw you, though. Not everyone keeps it as clean as I do (tee hee). But you will have a good time.
This is really getting out of hand. Remember Denny's Beer Barrel Pub from the commercials on television? The owners have totally lost their minds now. They have a new burger on the menu, and it only costs $379.00.
The Beer Barrel Main Event Charity Burger weighs in at 123 pounds, a meaty monstrosity that its cooks maintain shatters the world record of 105 pounds shared by two restaurants in New Jersey and Thailand.Don't they know how many people that would feed? What a waste of food.
The sizable sandwich features an 80-pound beef patty, along with a pound each of lettuce, ketchup, relish, mustard and mayonnaise, 160 slices of cheese, up to five onions and 12 tomatoes.
It's topped with a couple of pounds of banana peppers, then sandwiched into a 30-pound bun. Don't forget the garnish of 33 pickles.
This story is hard for me to believe. A man in Iowa was talking to a co-worker, when she commented on a story in the paper about an "idiot" who hadn't claimed an $800,000 lottery prize. Lo and behold, it was him. That would never happen around here. When we get tickets around here, we are very prompt when it comes to checking the results.
Got my homework done for this week already. Surprised? Don't be. It's only because I neglected to empty my recycle file on my desktop. The assignments I'd already done were still in there. I just have to copy them to the proper forums on the proper days. I won't be able to do that for long, however. I'll soon run out of rerun classes.

Here I am. I survived week one of school, again. The good news is the new instructor is going to let me write my term paper on the same topic as the old instructor, so I don't have to start from scratch. That's a real load off my mind.
I know I said I was going to blog last night, but we had yet another power outage. Thankfully, this one only lasted 3 hours or so, but it brought back some bad memories.
Sir Mugley has a new blog, called In Defense of Heroes. This blog will be dedicated to shining light on how our heroic veterans are being treated. Get over there and check it out. Click on the link in the blogroll and enlighten yourself.
In March, if you're in the Washington, D.C. area, and you respect the efforts made for our country by veterans of the Vietnam War, check out the Gathering of Eagles. A group of liberal anti-war activists, headed by Cindy Sheehan and Jane Fonda, are planning a war protest on the 17th of March. Of all places, they plan to start the protest in front of the Vietnam War Memorial. This is a total desecration of a monument which means nothing to them, but means a lot to anyone who lost someone during that war, or who served in the military during that time. Check out the details on the Defense of Heroes website, or by checking the link here. If you can, get involved in protecting the integrity of the monument, or help someone else do so.
I've started updating my blogroll, so if you know of any other changes, let me know. I want to keep it current for your convenience.
I'm gonna sign off now. I've got to start next week's assignments, and my daughter wants me to show her how to set up a blogroll on her website. Maybe I'll take a nap instead.
Keep us in your prayers please. Life may finally be changing for the better, but I don't want to say any more. I might jinx it.

Gonna keep this short. I'll be blogging tomorrow night. It's been a busy week, with school starting Monday and not getting into classes until Thursday. More to come. And sister, I haven't heard anything bad, so I'll expect you to be doing a jig this weekend.

Speaking of my daughter, she has her own blog now. You can check it out here. It's called There Coming To Take Me Away. With four children I have no doubt she feels that way a lot.
I was going to let this go, but I don't need another ulcer from holding things in. Yesterday I commented that I would die before I moved in with my daughter again. An anonymous blogger (figures) accused me of being an ungrateful wretch. Nay, I say, nay! Not ungrateful by a long shot. I have learned in my fifty years on this planet that two families cannot coexist for an extended period of time, even under the best of circumstances. The two families have different ways of living and seldom are they compatable. I love my daughter, her husband and their four children. However, Sir Mugley and I have a much quieter lifestyle and were not used to the elevated level of noise. In addition, they keep their home much warmer than we do, and they have a different style of parenting than we used. I'm not saying its bad, just different. So, Mr. or Miss or Mrs. Anonymous Blogger, unless you were there, you have a very wrong idea of what my level of gratitude should be.
Don't you just love those Taco Bell lions? Carrrrrrre Asada! Priceless!!

There's been a lot happen since I blogged last, and there's no way I can cover it all. Let's just start fresh, shall we? Oh yeah, Pack News is up and running again, only Wolf has changed the name to Howling in the Wind. I'll get around to changing it one of these days in the blogroll, but right now I'm tired.
I'm still alive, but just barely! You wouldn't believe all I've been through since school started. Phone and internet service out twice, three family members died, we had a super-nasty ice storm, had to move in with my daughter's family, power was out for 17 days, no internet service the whole time, finally got back home and water pipes busted. We're still without water, but I'll die before I move back over there. I came close this time. Sir Mugley and I both got very ill with respiratory infections; he got bronchitis, I got pneumonia. Now I'm fighting a bladder infection. It just never stops. And thanks to all the above, I have to retake the classes I signed up for in the first place!!
How are you all doing?
