Somebody actually did a study as to whether swearing increases pain tolerance, and surprise! It does. (I wonder if it works if you only think the words.) I guess that explains why you hear a lot of salty language in the labor and delivery rooms of a hospital.

In other news, midway through Bambi's speech on urban and metropolitan policy (yawn) today, one of his teleprompters crashed to the floor. It was pronounced dead at the scene. Personally, I think it committed suicide. Can you blame it? Maybe if it had tried swearing...
