I just wanted to take a moment to introduce the newest member of our family:

Her name is Zoe. Isn't she beautiful? My loving Sir Mugley brought her to me, along with some pink roses yesterday. Strangely enough, she feels better in my right hand, even though I'm a leftie. I just had to show her off.

I really have mixed feelings about this. I've always been the State Department of my family, yet I felt compelled to purchase a gun. I don't like the fact that I felt a need for a firearm, yet I do feel more secure having it here beside me. I've got to get more ammo, though. One box of 9mm isn't going to be enough to get proficient.

btw, WW white box, 100 rds at a time will allow you to practice on the cheap.
Thanks. Cheap is my motto, after all.
If "cheap is my motto" you should seriously consider getting a reloading setup. Anyone who can follow a recipe can produce ammunition as good as factory for one third the price. And a simple setup costs far less than a used handgun.

It is satisfying to have my own ammunition factory.
That's a nice piece! Is it a Colt?

You can try ammunitiontogo.com for some 9mm. they had some Brown Bear available for an OK price. aimsurplus.com sometimes has 9mm.
Zoe is a Taurus PT92. My sister thinks I'm crazy for getting a gun. She didn't say it, but she's thinking it. My daughter, on the other hand, wants to come and play with her little sister. My family is weird.
My wife thinks I'm crazy too but things are getting crazy and I have a family to protect. Plus I like going to the range every now and then :)
Finding a cheap gun is alright, but the key is to find a gun that takes cheap ammo. Then you can enjoy it and not have to worry about spending a ton on ammo.
