And now for some relatively local news:
A leisurely Sunday morning turned frightening for one southwest Missouri man when a giant sinkhole opened up and swallowed a portion of his home, including his garage and a car parked inside.This happens occasionally in this part of the country, where a lot of mining has taken place, or in drought conditions like now, the water tables are depleted. This particular sinkhole is about 75 feet deep. As of this morning, the house is about half gone.
