This is the kind of story that makes me see red... blood red. Tracy Pierce didn't need to die. His cancer, when found, was treatable.
Despite being fully insured, every treatment his doctors sought for him was denied by his insurance provider. First-Health Coventry deemed the treatments were either not a medical necessity or experimental.They would not even provide that poor man with pain killers in the end. Read the story. Get angry. Then do something. Write to the insurance company, or call them, or if you have that particular insurance, consider changing carriers. They don't deserve your money.
