This woman must have had an HMO. She successfully delivered the first of her expected twins easily, but the second baby did not appear. The doctor ordered an emergency C-section. Lo and behold, there was no other baby. The doctor mistakenly told the patient she was having twins. This is inexcusable in a time of ultrasound. Unless the ultrasound showed a baby with four arms and legs, this should never have happened.
