This is the most outrageous story I've read in a while. Parents, who are upset their children are messy, have moved into their front yard and say they're on strike. What's the matter with these people? It's not like these two (!) children are too little to discipline. They are 17 and 12 years old. Plenty old enough to do chores around the house. So instead of enforcing some set of "rules" (a word some parents don't understand), they abdicate their home to two brats who will probably destroy it because they haven't been taught to care for their things. These two morons should grow up, move back in the house, and kick some tail. If these kids don't take care of their things, then they don't need them. Clothes on the floor? Give them to goodwill. Toys not put away? Give them to someone who will care for them. Chores not done? No dinner. It's easy to set limits and make up rules, not so easy to enforce them. But when you give up your ground, and let the enemy force you out, you've already lost. The kids know they're not going to stay out there. What these parents are doing isn't working. They need to, as I said, grow up and take charge, instead of letting the kids run the house.
