I was reading our local newspaper, and discovered that the little town I live near (populaton approx. 350) is having a runoff election for Mayor. Of course, not living "in" town, I cannot vote, but I think it is pretty pathetic that so few people are deciding the leadership of a town. The runoff election is being held because in the regular election, both candidates received 22 votes. That's right. 22 votes. That's just wrong. People have to wake up and realize they are only going to get the type of government they deserve. And if they don't care any more than this, they deserve what they get.
